Surveys Executive

The Business Intelligence and Surveys Team runs and delivers 4 high profile student surveys, for and on behalf of the higher education sector, across Postgraduate and Undergraduate provision. The surveys and associated services are designed to provide insight for institutions to enhance their provision. The surveys team is responsible for the design and delivery of these surveys, providing support and analysis to more than 100 institutions who take part as well as delivering reports and presentations on the findings across the sector.

 

Job Description:

Reporting to the Head of Business Intelligence and Surveys

The Surveys Executive will provide services to the team throuh the effective implementation of administrative systems, procedures and policies and monitoring projects. The Surveys Executive will deliver findings from the Surveys to HEIs, stakeholders and the sector, raising the profile of the Surveys and generating interest

The Surveys Executive’s primary responsibilities are:

To work to their Operations Plan making effective use of resources, always adhering to budgets

• To ensure customer service standards are optimised

• To manage the Surveys projects in delivery through coordinated planning, resource scheduling and capacity management, including supporting HEIs that are running the Surveys.

• To raise the profile of the surveys across the sector, at events, presentations, webinars, conferences and lead the thought leadership agenda for this specialism/product group.

• To support appropriate Business Development activity to develop Advance HE’s proposition

• To identify opportunities to grow the Surveys portfolio or add value to member HEIs.

• To coordinate the administrational delivery of the Surveys, providing support to HEIs.

• To supervise a team effectively and as appropriate

• To manage suppliers as appropriate.

• To maintain area of specialist knowledge and expertise in the analysis and running of surveys and production of national and bespoke reports.

• To work cross functionally as required

• To comply with processes and systems and to put forward suggestions for their ongoing development and improvement

• To be responsible for delivering to deadlines

• To adhere to policies and procedures to meet legal and moral obligations in respect of, but not limited to equality, diversity and inclusion; GDPR, health and safety; and Charity Commission requirements.

Person specification:

Knowledge and skills

• Experience of managing a team or demonstrable experience of having the aptitude to manage a team

• Experience of managing budgets

• Experience of supplier management

• Knowledge of statistical techniques (regression, factor analysis, correlation).

• Experience of, or demonstrable experience of having the aptitude to manage the implementation of change management projects including culture change

• Experience of data cleansing, analysis of national survey data and subsequent report writing

• Good knowledge of SPSS or similar systems

• Educated to degree level or equivalent.

• An understanding of the higher education sector and its policy context with the aptitude to develop specific knowledge [if relevant]

• Effective supervision and delegation skills.
